Unleashing the beast in female athletes with personalised training AI Coach

At WILD.AI we empower women to reach their fitness objectives with an app-based AI-Coach. Cycle after cycle, training after training, we help women understand their body, what works best for each of them, and finally optimise their decisions with recommendations to reach peak performance.

Women have been ignored in sports and medical research. This means that they relied on fitness research done for men, regarding health and training protocols. This is not optimised for their bodies.

Women came to a realisation that they have been underserved and now continuously seek for solutions that are fit for them.

As a company, our is to analyse the data from our athletes and provide them with tailored training plans focusing first on the complexity of female characteristics. Plans and alterations aim to be carefully guided through the feedback from our coach partners.
As a team, we have the set of skills needed to create an AI training platform that extracts intelligence from our athlete’s data and create a personalised fitness assistant that paves towards understanding our own bodies.

We have designed a new onboarding procedure where we get to know sufficient information about the user-athlete so that we can provide her with value straight away. We have crafted a set of questions, backed up by our research through what they need, medical partners and academic papers to reveal enough insights from our user and personalise their next actions through WILD.AI.

We have implemented a unique feature where the athletes (as well as our algorithms) can track their injuries. This will aid to better personalise to the individual with recovery options, specialised exercises and recommendations. The capabilities of this feature can be pivoting to the escalation of WILD.AI as a medical journal for coaches, physiotherapists or GPs.

We have created a process of engaging the user daily by providing us feedback about their last day, aiming to provide them immediately with personal recommendations regarding their nutrition, sleep, mood and training.

Through our coach partners, we have implemented several training plans for the endurance sports we cater so that the user can choose and immediately add to their profile. Our AI coach will use these plans as a base to create either new ones or alter existing to tailor to the individual.

Athletes are equipped with a personal calendar where it shows their every day training, signed up events and tracked activities.

It synchronyses with personal calendars such as Gmail or their Iphone’s.

Athletes can browse through their collected data and set of answers and easily spot good/bad patterns throughout the days, as well as areas to focus on.

One of our female specific feature is our period tracking component in the user’s dashboard page. When the female athlete has shared her last periods, she can track her cycle through the app and she can also see how the body’s hormones and properties function throughout the menstruation cycle (this is not the “bleeding” part only: the cycle is typically 28 days, of which the “menstruations”, i.e. the bleeding part. This means the female body varies constantly — not only during the periods). Our main differentiation to any other period tracking app is that we combine the cycle with body functionality and provide training related recommendations according to their stage in the cycle (see bottom of the image). The future extensions to this is to personalise the graphs (i.e. HR, temperature) through the data the user gives us so it will show a unique representation of their body. The period data will also play an important part in the Body Information System (BIS) of each of our users.

(Additional features in the pipe to be discussed on call together. Those include micro-level competitions, similar to the gaming world; route mapping; race scoring (to get rankings for Kona Ironman qualifying races with most chances depending on age group; UTMB points,…), etc).

The BIS will eventually be a visualisation of how our intelligent algorithms view each athlete. From the moment the user engages with WILD.AI and provides us with her data, our algorithms are implementing an information graph on how each piece of information correlates with each other. This will aid the AI on the decisions on how it should alter a training plan and what kind of personalised recommendations should be given to the athlete to achieve optimal training and peak performance.
