Reporting made easy with NYC

One of the major qualities a good software developer must possess is the ability to write codes that are free of bugs.
It means that tests have to be written to ensure that the expected behavior is obtained.

How does a developer prevent some part of his code from breaking when he cannot be able to say for sure whether or not his written codes have been covered by his tests.
Nyc does it well, it generates reports line by line, branch by branch. It also generates the average tests coverage for the codebase.

Moreso, Nyc can generate reports in text, ‘html’ and even Javascript object notation format(‘json’). Nyc can be used by coveralls and other code coverage systems to produce overall test coverage.

With simple ‘script’ test: ‘nyc mocha’, in ‘package.json’ file all the test covered by mocha will be tracked by ‘nyc’ and reported.
