A Solution To Unemployment In The United States

The holidays are tough when you can’t afford to celebrate with your family and friends. While job creation is a key issue within the government, there’s a major gap in their thinking.

A couple thousand or hundred jobs in a given area isn’t going to solve that problem, especially when the jobs created are primarily minimum or near minimum wages.

Try applying for a job today, you end up going through some staffing agency acting in an intermediary role. They forward your resume over to the appropriate personnel, who decide whether or not they want to see you for an interview. Unless you know someone, personally, within the hiring company, you don’t have an opportunity to make a physical impression upon an employer.

How about creating nonprofit employment facilitators? Forget about hiring for a particular company, let the nonprofit hire employees themselves.

One area that a nonprofit, such as this, could have a significant advantage are in the low and middle class areas. Low income areas, for example, present a huge opportunity for communities.

A nonprofit employment agency could negotiate deals with local small business owners to purchase the required equipment or supplies, at cost. Thus allowing those same business owners to write off their mark up, since they’re providing assistance to the re-development of their communities. The nonprofit would supply the supplies or equipment to people residing within the community to do the work necessary, then pay them a fixed rate for helping their friends and neighbors.

This, in turn, would help restore the communities property values to their former glory. While mayors focus on bringing big business to their towns or cities and beautification projects, the nonprofit agency can step in and focus on those overlooked areas.

This is an example of an idea that could make a significant impact on unemployment within the United States.
