Do Filipino men and women hold differing attitudes towards Duterte?

Data shows: not so much.

For all this administration’s chauvinistic posturing, it appears that the approval rating of the current president between the sexes has varied by no more than 7% throughout his career’s run. In fact, what’s more notable in the movement of these ratings is how the two appear to be moving in uncoordinated directions.

The ever critical voice inside of me, however, is curious to find out if this same narrow gap persists between men and women across the age groups.

Note that events annotated on the line chart are not presented as direct causal links to the rise and falls of Duterte’s approval ratings. These are merely suggestions. Several other events may have factored into the shift in people’s attitude’s towards the president, such as the declaration of Martial Law in Mindanao.
