LinkedInterview

How would you improve LinkedIn? I took a look at LinkedIn’s metrics. Over 400 million accounts with 150 million monthly active users. Users on the site spend an average of 17 minutes per month on the site. LinkedIn is unique in that it has a very low engagement rate compared to other major social media sites. This is probably because people only go on LinkedIn when they’re looking for a new job and being active on LinkedIn may give your employer a signal that you’re looking for new work. How can we improve engagement on LinkedIn?

Let’s step in the customer’s shoes. The typical user goes on LinkedIn to find business connections that can help them get them their new job. They can see job listings on the site, but when they want more information, LinkedIn sends them to the company’s website. They then have to create a candidate profile with a login and password for each company, what a drag.

Since LinkedIn is already the place where people go to find jobs, it should also be a central platform for recruiters to get applications and host interviews.

Enter LinkedInterview, a full online interview platform hosted on LinkedIn. Instead of directing candidates to the company’s website, candidates will be be able to send their resume’s and cover letters directly through LinkedIn. No more useless career accounts.

When the hiring manager decides to interview the candidate, they will be able to interview them on LinkedIn. The candidate won’t have to download any extra platforms such as GoogleHangouts or Skype and won’t have to struggle with the learning curve of using those platforms. LinkedInterview will record the session and keep all of the candidate’s information in one central system.

LinkedInterview will help standardize the online interview process. Candidates will be familiar with the platform and will do better on the interview. User engagement will increase (each interview is at least 30 mins long) and LinkedIn will have another sell up feature that they can offer to businesses. This will help LinkedIn in the long run and will keep it in the #1 spot for professionals to network.

Looking forward to the future, the possibilities are endless
